“Cyclops”

There are three species of Long-Beaked Echidna in Papua/New Guinea - all of them are in trouble and one in particular has only been recorded once, in 1961. The search for the elusive or possibly extinct Attenborough’s Long-Beaked Echidna was such a ripping yarn I just had to write a poem about it.
